Eastern Chipmunk

I saw this Eastern Chipmunk at Reiman Gardens in Ames, Iowa. I was standing on a bridge across a creek, when this little guy caught my eye. I moved to take a picture of him, and he quickly shot down his burrow. I waited for a couple minutes, and sure enough, he popped out, and ran over to get some leaves, then ran back down his hole. He continued this for about 10 minutes. I was about to leave when he stopped running, and crawled up on this ledge, and seemed to pose for me.

Some people call chipmunks pests, but personally I think their too cute to be classified as pests.

Good shots. We don’t have Chipmunks in the UK so they also have novelty value for me.
