Fire is quite mesmerizing to watch, and extremely beautiful. You can sit and stare into the fire, and just be lost in a  world of thought.

These are a couple of pictures I got in our fireplace a couple weeks ago.

Fire Dancing on a Log

Fire is beautiful…

These next two pictures were my experiment to see what fire looked like with a long exposure.

#1 – f/4.5, 1/320 sec., ISO – 1600

#2 – f/14, 1/6 sec., ISO – 100

While the second picture is quite unique, I like the first picture better. I am prone to like sharp detail in my pictures. Do you prefer a sharp “frozen in time” type picture, or a “slightly blurry – but conveying an action” photo?

Nice work. Fire is fun to shoot. It’s a very cooperative subject. Thanks for dropping by my blog.
