Winter Birds – Tufted Titmouse

Got out and did some bird watching yesterday. It was very cold, but worth it!

I saw a Tufted Titmouse for the first time around our house. Very pretty little bird.

They are very pretty birds 🙂 I get to see them all the time here in Coastal Texas.

Yes, they are very pretty! And astonishingly curious, I was leaning on a fence post for about a half hour watching about four of them, and one of them came within three feet of me and I had my 300mm lens on, so I was no able to focus on it while it was that close. I just had to have a staring contest with the little bird for about thirty seconds. Glad to get to see the bird that close, but would have been happier had I gotten a picture!
Fishermen tell stories of the fish that got away, Photographers tell stories of the shots they couldn’t take!

I’m happy to see someone as young as you are interested in nature and you are very observant. Keep taking those pictures!

Way to go, Wyatt. Nice photos of the Tufted Titmouse. We have the same bird here, except it has a black “tuft”. It is called the Black-crested Titmouse here.

Yes, I’ve heard of the Black-crested Titmouse, but as you know, they are only down south in the Texas/Northern Mexico area. I hope someday to visit the area and get some pictures of it! Thanks for commenting!

Great pix Wyatt. Some of them must have been a challenge with the focus with the branches in between. Well done!
